Flat feet can become a serious problem if not treated in time.

This is the result of the collapse of the foot arch, causing all or almost the entire sole of the foot to touch the ground. This is very common in children, who are actually born with flat feet and it remains that way until they are three or four years old, when the tendons and muscles that form the arch begin to strengthen. Sometimes this can take until adolescence to correct itself.
However, there are cases of adults who never develop an arch, or conversely, an adult with a normal foot can develop flat feet due to malfunction of the parts that form the arch, meaning the tension is lost.
Consequences
Although at first it may seem insignificant, flat feet can cause serious issues in the adult’s anatomical structure. Without the arch, the foot begins to tilt inward toward the "big toe," and this inclination affects all the joints that keep us upright. And just like the foundation of a building, if it’s not solid, the entire structure collapses. The weight on the ankles, the first joint affected, pushes them inward in an abnormal way, immediately altering the posture. As a result, the knees are clearly affected because they come out of their working axis. It’s important to remember that knees are hinge joints, and when they come out of position, they start to rub against each other, which causes wear and tear that can lead to injury over time. Back problems also arise, with increased kyphosis as one tends to walk more hunched forward.
Flat feet also cause unusual fatigue, as it feels like dragging the foot when walking. In reality, this foot shape leads to higher energy expenditure than a normal foot.
